St. Jude Dream Home

  Those of you that follow this blog regularly know that I love St. Jude children's hospital and it is one of my favorite charities. Each year the St. Jude Dream Home giveaway is one of their largest fundraisers that brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars for research and for patient care. The way it works is in several cities a local builder with the help of several other businesses will construct a wonderful dream home free of charge and you can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win the home. Then all the proceeds from the ticket sales go to St. Jude. There are usually all kinds of other great prizes that buying a ticket makes you eligible for as well. So for today's good deed my husband and I are buying some raffle tickets as a way of donating to St. Jude. I don't actually expect us to have any real chance of winning a new home, but it is a nice perk to know that there is a teeny tiny chance that I could win a beautiful new home in addition to donating to a wonderful organization that I would donate to anyway.
